Just kind of wondering. I have a vision of Halloween on a boat in the river and seeing all of these pumpkins floating around bumping along. Un-carved, of course! What was your best Halloween costume? Did you win a prize? I never won, but my son did! Dressed him as a ham sandwich! Oh yes I did…and he didn’t like it at first. THEN, when he won 1st place, well the tide it did turn. I was suddenly the best mom in the world – so very cool. I know that even though the bread was foam rubber he probably wouldn’t float!
So tell me about your best Halloween costume! And let’s keep it clean!
Best regards, Lou

We went to the craft show today in Riverview Park. Loads of talented crafters there! If you are looking for ideas for Christmas – this is the place! There are more shows coming up, so don’t despair. I loved the woven palm frond baskets and bought one for my friend! There are actually some very cool Santa’s there made from lightbulbs! And tropical delights galore for your home decor! Hey that rhymed! See you at the next craft show! November 14th! Best regards, Lou

We just took a short break from work and went to the west coast of Florida. Bonita Springs, near Ft. Myers and Naples to be exact. Though the Gulf is calm and the beach is soft, we decided that we prefer the intracoastal and the Atlantic Ocean right here in our own area! Didn’t even take any pictures! There was good seafood there, of course! But it wasn’t better than the seafood here. In fact, there was no difference! Driving around was pretty frantic also. We’ve come to be spoiled to the slow, easy way of our Sebastian communities. We’re not going anywhere else for awhile. A “staycation” provides us with all of the beauty, food and fun we need!

So far it’s been a typical summer here. Hot, rain, steam, then a bit of relieving lower humidity. So inside I go, to replace a kitchen sink and faucets. Yes, the dreaded leaky faucet routine. We managed to usurpe an entire weekend tightening connections and messing with plumbers putty, but we did reign successful! Love that new faucet and sink! But now, I keep looking at the bathroom sinks…how would they look with a new faucet? Then I look at myself in the mirror and decide that the cotton ball soaked in alcohol will make them nice and shiny and costs less money and no risk of losing my sanity and possibly my marriage! Best regards, Lou

It did stop raining in time for the fireworks in Sebastian, FL. We are now know, however, as the “cloudburst state” instead of the “sunshine state” – kidding. There were loads of soaked people still walking about the park, not caring when they walked through the deep puddles here and there. The vendors were carrying around glow in the dark things and flashing swords for the kids. Funny, I don’t recall flashing swords being a traditional July 4th celebratory icon??? Just something to try to get worn down parents to buy. Children flailing swords around, good plan. The display was very nice, not spectacular. In fact the grandsons noticed what might have been the Vero Beach display to our south and said that those looked better and lasted longer. Perhaps, but you know what “they” say, the fireworks always look better on the other side of the county…or something like that. Who are “they” anyway?

Sometimes a for sale by owner looks very enticing. Nice home, nice people – all nice. But what about the price? Can you imagine yourself buying that home from a “for sale by owner” and finding out later that you paid too much? It happens all the time. This is a great reason to use the services of a professional realtor. A professional realtor can research the market on the MLS and knows what prices the market is indicating. Realtors, the great ones, like me, don’t want you to pay to much for your home! I want you to pay a fair market price for the home of your dreams. I want you happy with your new home, AND happy with the price you paid. It’s not all about me, it’s about YOU! What do you want, need and what can you comfortably afford. How could I sleep at night if I knew you really didn’t get the best home at the best price? I would rather lose you as a buyer than have you over extended in a home purchase. Really! So before you consider that “for sale by owner” call me, or any other professional realtor for that matter. We are people taking care of people. That’s what it’s all about.

We went to Fellsmere to Marshlanding and had wonderful food, great service and fun! It was a great day. We laughed alot! Mary and I sang, “Roseland Road” to the tune of “Ramblin’ Rose” – you had to be there! We need to go out and eat together more often!

Dad doesn’t seem really thrilled that Father’s Day is tomorrow. He rolled his eyes when I mentioned eating lunch somewhere. I asked him if he probably should have eaten his young and that made him smile. Wonder what he meant by that? “Just another day” he mumbled, not smiling. I told him he has a great smile and that I’d like to see it. He barely curled the lip. It wasn’t curled UP, but curled. Well maybe more of a sneer or snarl. I think I figured it out though. Found out that he had only received one card in the mail and neither were from my sibs. Man, are they in trouble now! I’m glad I’m not them! So tomorrow we’ll go to Marshlanding in Fellsmere and have a nice lunch and then he’ll get MY card at least. LOL Then we’ll go back home, he’ll fall asleep in his chair and, “rest his eyes” some more…and have gas. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you!

Even in Florida a hot tub is a useful item, well, in MY opinion anyway. The refreshing bubbles and the massage on the back for stress is the greatest. The temperature I like best is about 97 degrees. If it’s too hot, and too hot outside then that sick feeling begins. The sick feeling in the pit of your stomach that you’ve done something wrong…like not buying that real estate when it’s so low priced right now. Hear me now, believe me later…this is the time to buy. Think about investing in your future. This is it!
